I have some extra brand new socks from size 3-6 months to 3t I'd like to send to something hurricane related. I know most of the charities got lots of clothing, but I'd understood socks were a need.

Please let me know where I can donate them?

An evacuee here

Hey, my name is Rebecca and Im from Sulphur, LA which is about fifteen minutes east of Lake Charles. When they called the mandatory evacuation for Calcasieu parish, I got the Hell outta there. My grandparents, my mom, and my dog and I packed up and got on the road thursday. Thursday, we spent the night in DeRidder, then went to my Aunt Vicky's camp at Caney Lake. When the power went out there, we went to her house in Monroe. I was right in the middle of taking a shower when the lights went out. An electricity pole fell down on our street. So today, my family and I left her house to go to a friends house which is also in Monroe.

Well, I just got to a computer for the first time in about a week. But I just wanted to share my experiences so far. And thank you Monroe for being so generous.

Lost power and still haven't gotten it back. At work right now and thank god for electricity and a/c. I hope you all are doing well with the circumstances. My thoughts and prayers are with those hardest hit in Southeast Texas and SW Louisiana..
